All the King's Men, Ch. 1-4

Based on what you have learned about Jack through the first four chapters, is he a good or a bad person? Please reference sections of the novel to support your response.

Your response should be approximately 50-words in length. Be sure to use textual evidence when appropriate. Going over or under the suggested word count is acceptable as long as your response is detailed and direct. Also, please review your response for correctness before posting--nothing is worse than an error-ridden post.

You are required to post a minimum of (2) comments. One must respond to the above prompt, and the other should challenge or defend a comment from a classmate.

  1. Jack seems like a good person so far. Jack is not corrupt and keeps to himself like in chapter 2 Jack did not tell desperate Willie that he was the pawn in the gubernatorial election. Jack is a reliable narrator and is not biased towards or against any other character in the way he describes them. Jack must be trustworthy as a journalist, the common people usually tell him everything he wants to know. Jack is also Willie's right hand man and keeps all Willie's secrets, this could potentially be detrimental to Jack in the long run but overall I have seen Jack as a honest and moral person.
