Centuries Apart but Very Similar

Shakespeare lived and wrote during the late 1500s while Oscar Wilde lived and wrote during the late 1800s. Both men were European, Shakespeare being English and Wilde being Irish, yet they have similar writing styles. Even though Shakespeare wrote in Old English and Wilde did not, what similarities do the two playwrites share in regards to their writing (themes, dialogue, character traits, plot structure, etc.)?
