  1. I find it interesting that Alex, who was only six at the time of the accident, was the first person ever to receive the Christopher Reeve's surgery. It's weird to think how someone only a state away was able to become known worldwide for not only being the first to undergo the surgery, but surviving such a serious injury.

  2. I find it interesting how Kevin uses others opinions in the book. Most authors only use their opinions and thoughts in the book, but Kevin used Alex's thoughts along with the family, pastor, and doctors' thoughts. On page 59, Alex's doctor states "The vertebrae were completely detached. The tendon sheath around the spinal column was severed near the base of his brain. The injury was so severe and so high on the spinal column, it is simply incredible that Alex survived."

  3. I find it interesting that such great detail was added. Everything was so clear and precise, that I had no confusion of what was going on anywhere in the book. I could close my eyes and imagine myself there with perfect understanding of what was going on around me. Even conversations between others were added which adds to the precision of detail. For example:""We'll need to contact the coroner's office and cancel MedFlight." "Yes,sir, but the chopper's already landing."" This ability of understanding is what gets me interested in a novel. So, needless to say, i found this book of great interest.
